“Meditation Science: How this ancient practice changes our brains for the better”
Recent advances in the brain science indicate that meditation and other contemplative practices physically alter brain function. Meditation is a way to use your mind to shape your brain for greater happiness and peace of mind. This is literally the mind-brain connection at work. After a brief introduction to basic brain biology, we will explore research studies demonstrating how, at a cellular level, meditation sculpts the brain for a new default state: one of calmness and compassion. Throughout, there will be practice meditation exercises.
Come explore this fascinating topic with Manisha Dayal, MD, a physician, brain researcher, and dedicated student of meditation.
