WHAT IS SECOND WIND?
Second Wind is comprised of eclectic, fun and passionate people who value carving time into our lives to be intentional as we navigate this life in a purposeful and generous way. It’s too easy to live life in “default” mode. So we come together to provide the forum and friendships to help us live lives pursuing our mission statement:

EXCITING DREAMS: We believe each of us is wired with different passions, strengths, skills and ideas to make a difference in this world. We provide conversations and resources for us to each live in alignment with who we want to be.

EXPERIENCING BELONGING: We believe in community. Not “small-talk friends,” but real community. Where we don’t have to fake, impress or promote ourselves. We value honesty & authenticity and want nothing more than to empower each other through acceptance, support and meaningful interaction.

EXTENDING COMPASSION: We believe that the one thing all spiritual and religious journeys have in common is to move us to live beyond ourselves in a way that gives to this world—to the environment, to the people and those causes. Our spiritual journeys must lead us to give voice and action to others, to be allies to those who either have no voice or who have had their voices taken away or minimized because of who they are or where they live or how they look or what they have or don’t have.

EXPLORING GOD: We believe in God. But not in any one picture that pretends to encase itself as an exclusive snapshot of reality (and in which we smugly think we have all the answers to such a Mystery). We hunger for an experience of God. We search for a transforming encounter with God. We acknowledge this higher power, this personal experience or this universal sense in different ways and we come together to learn from each other and to give honor to our personal ongoing journeys. At the least, we believe that to know unselfish love is to begin to know God. And the journey beyond that can only be awesome, transforming and exciting.
